Members Stengah Posted March 22, 2004 Members Posted March 22, 2004 What basic scales would you recommand me so that i can start playing slayer fast as hell solos ? i think the key is to master the alternate picking pretty well, but would you have some specific scales that would help me play those crazy solos ? thanks ..
Poparad Posted March 22, 2004 Posted March 22, 2004 Minor pentatonic. Work on pull-offs and hammer-ons mostly to get speed on them.

Members Stengah Posted March 22, 2004 Author Members Posted March 22, 2004 i heard the Diatonic scale very useful, better than the pentatonic, is it true ? i know there are no "better scales" but maybe some can help you improve better and faster. i'm really just in need for something based around speed, not something quite intelligent .... (yeah i know ...) but don't worry i'll try to learn blues licks later.

Thats what it sounds like to me.... The only Slayer album I have is Seasons in the Abyss. I like the riffs but the some of the solos are horrid! (in a bad way.... King has the technical ablilty though
Members Stengah Posted March 25, 2004 Author Members Posted March 25, 2004 seasons in the abyss is not my favourite slayer record .... i was more thinking of the first records, from show no mercy to reign in blood. these solos are different .
