I would realy like to start learning some Finger style playing... I have been listening to alot of Tommy Emmanuel lately, and I also love chet atkins. I dont realy know where to start... The techniques, the tunes, whatever. Anything you guys could suggest would be great.

I'd start by taking classical lessons. Even though the music may or may not be what you have in mind .... the right hand technique and development is pretty well laid out. I see quite a few people who fingerpick and I know they could play much, much better if they learned to play in a more "classical" style. It translates pretty much to any style of fingerpicking .... even using finger and thumb picks. There are some web sites that go into detail about correct right hand technique ... if you look around. I'm harping on about technique because I find it to be so important ... it can be such a limiting factor if you have poor technique.

A good teacher goes a long way. "Pumping Nylon" by Scott Tennant is a very good pair of books that deal with technique and he also has a DVD that is worth owning. I think I heard somewhere that the books are now available in tab .... but I'm not 100% sure.
