Members Terje Posted August 4, 2004 Members Posted August 4, 2004 For those who don't know, this is a program that lets you slow down (and speed up) any CD. You can also adjust the pitch and finetune it Just got the real program, with license and everything. Set me back $60, since I live in Sweden and everything is expensive here. Anyway... the program is easy to use, and that was the idea. I can get a recording to slow down if I use my tape recorded (which has a speed control) and make a loop together with my MD. That just takes the fun out of it. I could also get the free version of the ASD and burn new CD's with the two songs I want to learn (cause the free version only does the first two tracks). That would also be too much work. At the wrong time. I want to be able to pick out my favorite T-Bone Walker recording and go "hey, let's try track 6!", and then realize that it was in fact track 8 that was the cool one and proceed to that one instead. As far as working with the program it's easy as can be. Just play the CD and slow it down to half (or even slower, but then the sound is horrible). Make a loop and work on the solo step by step. Once you have the whole thing (or the part you were interested in) speed it up gradually and if you want to you can even learn it faster than the original recording. The sound is OK (probably depends on your soundcard too) and once I'm through with whatever I wanted to learn I put the CD in my real CD player and use the A-B repeat function to further ingrain the thing I wanted to learn. Short version of this: Get the program if you don't already have something that is just as good.

Very useful.
