Members Musician11 Posted December 22, 2004 Members Posted December 22, 2004 Every time i learn a song, i always end up just strumming along and signing the melody. I need help in learning how to walk the bass in btwn chord changes and just making it more interesting than strum strum strum. Even my strumming patterns are pretty repetative. The only time i do anything different is when im trying to improvise with a backing track, or if im trying to learn a specific solo. Is there any help?
Poparad Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Try arpeggiating chords. Also, try connecting the top notes of the chord voicings to make melodies. You'll have to know more than just a couple basic barre chords to do that efficiently, but it can be just as interesting as basslines.
