Members Terje Posted January 11, 2005 Members Posted January 11, 2005 It's not a bad idea to learn how to play things, like scales, arpeggios and melodies, on only one string and to do this with all the strings you have, one by one. The benefit is freedom, you'll feel really free to move around when you play when you've done this for a little while.

Practicing this way will let you see the interval structure of scales and arpeggios, much in the same way as when you play these on a piano.
