Members maninexile Posted January 11, 2005 Members Posted January 11, 2005 Guys, I'm a newbie - what guitar do I buy? Guitar Center offers a Fender Fat Strat for $350. Is that a good choice? Please gimme inputs to buy the right thing. Thanx..
Members Yngtchie Blacksteen Posted January 11, 2005 Members Posted January 11, 2005 You might wanna try Guitar Jam or the Electric Guitars section for that sort of questions.
Members euclid Posted January 11, 2005 Members Posted January 11, 2005 You really have to go into the store and try them out. Don't worry about not being able to play, you don't have to plug in to an amp to try the guitar out. Try a whole different selection. Try all sorts of guitars. Since this is your first one, don't feel like you need to spend a ton of money. Get something that feels good to you. If your fingers are weak (not meant as an insult) get something with a skinny neck and low action. I hear alot of really great things about Agile guitars - maybe these are right for you? If you are an absolutely beginner, just practice the chromatic scale on each guitar you pick up. (start on low E string (fattest string) and fret the 1st, then 2nd, then 3rd, then 4th fret) Try it one the first fret, then try around the 12th fret and see if it is hard to press the strings down up in that region.
