Members amigababy Posted January 20, 2005 Members Posted January 20, 2005 Hi, i have a Bassman 135 and i probably buy a THD for power amp overdrive, but i was wondering if maybe these ultralinear amps don't react as other amps to "cranking effect", any information is welcome, thanks
Members chittypantz Posted January 21, 2005 Members Posted January 21, 2005 I don't have much experience with the Bassman, but I use a Hotplate with my '76 Marshall JMP Superlead and it does wonders for helping to get the cranked power section sound at low volumes. I don't know how the Marshall circuit compares with the Bassman circuit, and how that is effects the Hotplate's performance. Take the question over to the amps forum -- I'm sure someone there has experience with the Bassman through a Hotplate.
