Members Forbidden Posted January 26, 2005 Members Posted January 26, 2005 to play bluegrass/country style guitar. Along the lines of Brent Mason, all the guys in the Hellecasters, Chet Atkins, Tommy Emmanuel. Maybe you can suggest more songs by these guys as I haven't heard a vast amount and some different people but hopefully I've given you a good enough idea. I'm currently a rock/blues hack (I know a fair bit of theory) and can play rather well and would love to get into this style and hopefully as well as learning it I'll be able to pick a million times better. I'm looking at these videos/dvd's right now and jsut wondered if anyone's had any experience with them if not please suggest some. http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/056741/details.html http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/015706/details.html http://www.musicroom.com/se/ID_No/029903/details.html Also what could I look into for jazz ? I like Joe Pass, any suggestions for videos/dvd's ? This is my 2nd option so please suggest the country/bluegrass stuff first Thanks
Members chrisgraff Posted January 30, 2005 Members Posted January 30, 2005 The second two are good. Don't know about the first one. As far as jazz videos, Robben Ford has a couple great ones, Joe Pass has one (possibly out of print), Emily Remler had a great one. Another country DVD to get is Johnny Hiland. Smokin' player!
