Members Forbidden Posted March 9, 2005 Members Posted March 9, 2005 I'm not sure that it really matters and I'm sure others do it and get by fine but with my pinky I seem to fret with the more fleshy part lower down than the fingertip. Any disadvantages/advantages ?
Members nylon rock Posted March 9, 2005 Members Posted March 9, 2005 For barre chords, like if you were going back and forth between G and C on the third fret, you can't beat the ease of the fleshy part of the pinky for that C "A type" format. Much better than switching to three fingers in a row, or the ring finger and hyper extending it backwards to try and lift it off the high E. (and to then have your pinky available for the sus 4 (ridiculous)) So, definitely use whatever you got!! Find the easiest way to do something, and that's where it's done.
