Members GrantsV5 Posted April 18, 2005 Members Posted April 18, 2005 I was wondering if anyone knows what software typesetters use for creating professional looking tabulature like as seen in guitar magazines and books (Hal Leonard etc.)???
Members Auggie Doggie Posted April 20, 2005 Members Posted April 20, 2005 Finale is the industry standard, but it's a BEAST to use. It has an enormous learning curve.Sibelius G7 is easier to use, though (in my opinion) the results are nowhere near as good as the average Finale score.I've completed 5 books so far, but when I was starting the first, I tried everything available. I wasn't happy with any of them; I wanted to use Finale, but I would have spent 3 years just trying to get the hang of the program. So, I settled on another approach: I had someone hack into an insufficient freeware program and make a few alterations...and in addition, I use a few other pieces of software to create the final result.

Creates TAB very easily, and you can export the TAB as text, and use whatever you want to format it.
