Members Musical Soldier Posted July 12, 2005 Members Posted July 12, 2005 I took a break from playing for about 2 months and recently have started back into it hard. I am trying to learn some new songs with new chords. However my problem now is that my thumb keps cramping up. I tried loosing up, but then the notes are buzzing and unclear. Any suggestions?
Members tlniec Posted July 13, 2005 Members Posted July 13, 2005 I have this trouble with barre chords. I've lately been playing more and more songs with barre chords while I practice, and I find that it wears my thumb out pretty quickly. I've decided to approach it like I would with other muscles... work it 'till fatigue, let it rest a day or so, then do it all again. Hopefully in a few months, I'll have better thumb endurance.

Good Call! I get the same prob now 'n then... try streching it a little before you get your jam on, shake it out between songs , and strech it again when yer done. Think of PT warmup, muscle strength/endurance, and cool down. whooah!
