Chord progression fingering question

Hello,

I'm trying to play a song with difficult chords...to say the least. I'm having problems with the outro of the song. The final 4 chords are Em79, C#min7-5, C+4, Bmin11. The fingering I use are the following :

Em79 :

022032

C#min7-5 :

x4545x

C+4 :

x33011

Bmin11 :

x22232

First Question : Am I using the correct notes for these chords ?

Second Question : Could you suggest alternate fingerings ?

My biggest problem is going to the C#min7-5.

Thanks for any help

For Em79, it only needs to be labelled 'Em9.' The Em9 label implies that the 7th is in there, so it's redundant to include it. Your voicing is right though. Here's another couple that use a few more open strings:

020002

024030

As for C+4, the voicing isn't correct. The "+4" is the same as a #4. To find the #4, just go to the fourth scale degree of C major (F) and raise it a half step (F#). C+4 would be spelled C E F# G.

Here's a possible voicing:

x34010

or making it Cmaj7(#11) - (11 = 4)

x34000

or

x3445x

or

x35452

Second Question : Could you suggest alternate fingerings ?

My biggest problem is going to the C#min7-5.

That's really the best and easiest fingering for it. Here are some other possibilities:

9x998x

xx2423 (b3 in bass)

x2202x (b7 in bass)

3x242x (b5 in bass)

Thank you for the great information Poparad. I'll try the new fingerings you suggested. Also, thank you for clearifying the C+4...I really wasnt sure. I just knew that something didnt feel right. I'll see if the F# works better ! Also, this song is on a 12 string to complicate things....I'm trying to master it on 6 strings before giving it a go on the 12 :p
