Members rotren Posted August 18, 2005 Members Posted August 18, 2005 Hi, I have a video lesson showing you the blues scale. It doesn't have anything you can print out, but maybe you'll be able to pick up some ideas anyway.http://www.dolphinstreet.com/guitar_video_lessons

Members Cackalacky Posted August 20, 2005 Members Posted August 20, 2005 One way to conceptualize(and to hit those tasty 3rds and 7ths over each respective chord in a I7 IV7 V7), in, say the key of G, is this. Staying in the same position, over G7 think G mixo, and work a mixo arpeggio. Over C7, think G dorian, and work a G min7 arpeggio, and over D7 think G ionian and work a GMaj7 arpeggio. This is just one possibility to help break people out of playing licks, to work some of the "color" notes, and starting to play the changes, as opposed to playing pentatonics.
