well...

Drop D is usually used for heavy music, lots of open string D notes... so I guess you want dark sounds

D Phrygian or Locrian are good modes to use, or you can treat them as D "scales" if you want... um in frets on the low D string they are

Phrygian:

0 1 3 5 7 8 10 12

Locrian

0 1 3 5 6 8 10 12

and you know 7th fret low D is the same as open A string... so you can extrapolate the scale from there...

most heavy Drop D songs use these scales... some are in minor, or use the natural minor / harmonic minor, but usually the heavy parts are using those frets... hope that helps.

Dropped D tuning doesn't dictate any scale. You can use any scale that you would use in standard tuning (major, minor, blues, modes, etc). djmojo is correct that dropped D is most common in heavier types of music, but that is not the only time it is used.
