Members highpressur Posted January 25, 2006 Members Posted January 25, 2006 What can I do to keep learning stuff?
Members [trapped!!] Posted January 25, 2006 Members Posted January 25, 2006 that's too bad! i wud say this is the best time to explore written music theory deeper... i don't know u, so forgive me if u already know your theory well, but lots of ppl have been playing for ages and don't know how to read score, so i'd say learn that, and really learn it, if u don't know how already... sorry if this is totally useless...
Poparad Posted January 25, 2006 Posted January 25, 2006 You can practice your ear training with your voice. Try singing different scales and chord arpeggios. Two good ear training websites are www.good-ear.com and www.musictheory.net Studying theory is good too.One of the things I did last month that didn't involve my instrument was studying the store to a string quartet (many libraries have copies available of written music). I look at what kind of voicings the composer used, the form the song, the melodies he used and where he reused them at and how he changed them and so on.
