Members Kinetic Posted April 11, 2006 Members Posted April 11, 2006 Rather than select a time for a tempo you tap a button to dictate the tempo. It's usually used for delays.
Members Li Shenron Posted April 11, 2006 Members Posted April 11, 2006 Yes. When you have an effect that has a tempo parameter (for example, in milliseconds), you often have two options: 1) set a tempo value (like 500ms) 2) "tap" a few times on a pedal switch, and the device will measure the time distance between your taps, average it out, and set the tempo to what you tapped It's often very useful in time-critical effects like Delay (tho other effects can use it), where a slight difference between the tempo of the song and the tempo of the delay can completely screw up the use of the effect. Obviously you need it live, when you may start a song with a slightly wrong tempo.
