Members Smilin' Bob Posted May 4, 2006 Members Posted May 4, 2006 I want to give my grown daughter some acoustic guitar instructional cd/dvds with or without books for her birthday. She has taken a few lessons, but is still very much a nube. Any suggestions appreciated!

Members mmb Posted May 14, 2006 Members Posted May 14, 2006 The Fender beginner DVD is pretty good. The series with Keith Wyatt. I gave that to my kid sister because she's become interested in playing guitar.
Members red|dragon Posted May 14, 2006 Members Posted May 14, 2006 Sorry but I don't know any kids that are going to sit down and learn guitar from a book. If I were you I would get her private lessons with someone who you a) is good with kids and b) knows how to teach kids guitar ....im assuming your daughter is young, but anyways.

Try the search engines, Amazon, Warner Bros etc. RockHouseMethod has one - the SongXpress songs are good and can be learned on Acoustic - I think they have a special version for those. The Barre Chord lesson from SongXpress is very good, and he does most of it on an acoustic. Any beginner tape that comes with a guitar pack can be used - I have 3 or 4.
