Members swisstony123 Posted May 17, 2006 Members Posted May 17, 2006 I started learning guitar about 10 years ago playing off and on, and in the last 3months i have been playing solidly every day!! The thing is i have been self taught all this time and only had a couple of lessons (which were terrible!! plus i cannot afford them at the moment) Now i have come to a point where i want to learn theory and the rest but i really need to start from scratch i've pretty much forgot the lot over the years!?!? I would really like to learn to solo so i could work out the key of a song and learn to improvise along with it (if thats the right terminology). To be honest i have attention problems smiliar to a pet goldfish so i really can't learn anything to detailed at the moment but i really want to learn the basics but where do i start?!?! Ide love to play like Steve Marriot! Ive been learning to play "song of a baker" but am now reallyfrustrated as im left out in the solo part!! So please good patrons of Harmony central impart your wisdom! Thanks in advance for any help and sorry about the lack of proper puctuation and spelling i hope you get the gist!
Members gennation Posted May 17, 2006 Members Posted May 17, 2006 I can help start your theory practices from scatch. Go to my lesson site...http://lessons.mikedodge.com Follow the links under the Beginner To Advance Series. This is the foundation stuff you need to work up to other theory concepts. These are the fundamentals, but will will be portalbe enough that it'll help you understand many other concepts related to theory. Spend some time there, it'll be well spent...trust me. Have fun!
