Members 1001gear Posted May 15, 2006 Members Posted May 15, 2006 Would it be possible to implement some rudimentary notation capability on these forums? Staff grids, dragable note"leez" whatever... Even if use were restricted to the educators, it could save a lot of confusion. And leave more room for all the inane stuff people wanna type about. :-)
Members TubeAddict Posted May 15, 2006 Members Posted May 15, 2006 There are free notation editing programs and the capability to post images exists, so why reinvent the wheel?
Members 1001gear Posted May 15, 2006 Author Members Posted May 15, 2006 Good question. BUT I still see adequate but crude type-formatted tablature and diagrams. I haven't seen so much as a rythm in standard notation; not even in the drum forum. ...Anything inane you'd like to discuss? ;-)

I think it's more cultural v technical - so it may be more about promoting the wheel as opposed to reinventing it

TubeAddict Uh, no .......why? Nice melodic looking picture though! BTW are you really the worst guitarist here? Can you prove it? --------------------------------------------------------------- "wholenote.com's got some web tab writing program. You can write lessons, then link to them. It's free." Janx Thanks Janx! I'll definitely take a look thataway, but lest anyone get the NOTion that I know what I'm typing about, my complaint is from the student perspective. Maybe it's just me but descriptions of palm muting power fourths at 200 bpm would seem more credible with some standard notation as a reference.

Just thought as in "There are ways of posting various forms of notation already present, but they might not be used as much as they could be (just out of H/C forum cultural habit). So maybe it's more of a problem of just using/promoting those systems to form new use habits
