Members Eric the fish Posted May 29, 2006 Members Posted May 29, 2006 aside from scouring free tabs from the internet on a song-by-song basis (which i do NOT want to waste my time doing), is there such a book? ok, maybe not a thousand, but at least a good solid thick collection of classic rock / metal / blues / etc riffs that nearly every guitar dude / dudette (i'm the former) should know? you know, Sultans Of Swing, Crazy Train, Sweet Home Alabama, Stairway To Getting Kicked Out Of The Music Store, etc. one book. tons of riffs-n-licks from a wide range of artists.
Members dan_plus_o Posted May 29, 2006 Members Posted May 29, 2006 not sure but it would be cool if there is.... and do people actually get kicked from music stores if they play stairway to heaven??

Members 1001gear Posted May 30, 2006 Members Posted May 30, 2006 Depends on the region but not usually until the second or third time. I think the rule is twice on the same guitar on separate occasions or not having purchased either of two guitars used in said manner regardless of chronology.
Members dan_plus_o Posted May 30, 2006 Members Posted May 30, 2006 I guess it helps when you know the store owner and all the employes..... Although I have never played stairway to heaven in a guitar store.
Members Little Dreamer Posted May 30, 2006 Members Posted May 30, 2006 Wolf Marshall has a book called 101 must know rock licks. It sounds like exactly what you're describing - about two or three bars of various songs Wolf apparently likes. I think all the tabs are wrong though, probably copyright issues.

Members Bajazz Posted May 31, 2006 Members Posted May 31, 2006 "The 100 most famous guitar intros" or something. Somehow I've lost it....
