Members Conners Posted June 23, 2006 Members Posted June 23, 2006 hello, in an ongoing quest to sing better, I purchased a book by roger love, the guy who made hanson sound ok post puberty. he has a section on diaphragm breathing, and I think i am doing it, but I'm not sure.. I am using some muscle in my stomach area to open my stomach up and the air comes in my nose. then i just relax the muscle, and the air flows out. its rather smooth and effortless, but I am afraid i'm using the stomach muscles that roger says should be relaxed during the process. I dont know if the muscle i'm moving is my diaphragm, or not.. any advice/ suggestions?
Poparad Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 This is the sort of thing that can't be answered unless in person, to see exactly what it is you're doing and hear how it sounds. I would recommend taking voice lessons, even just 1 or 2, with a good teacher to sort out any physical problems you might have with your vocal technique.
