Members atomicfear Posted September 6, 2006 Members Posted September 6, 2006 I have been playing guitar hard for the past 8 months. I am learning a lot of scales and I have taken to a lot of quick open note stuff. I think lead might be for me. Where should I start? What are some good songs to warm up with? are there any no-no's? any advice is appreciated. thanks

Members bowlingshirt Posted September 7, 2006 Members Posted September 7, 2006 Harmonizing is an important skill to learn, and will make a good starting point for you. You may already have learned to some degree what scales to play over what progression. Record yourself playing a rhythm part, then play it back while trying to solo over it, keeping in mind that the solo is to compliment the rhythm playing, not overwhelm it.
