Members Jiggs_Casey Posted December 16, 2006 Members Posted December 16, 2006 Hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question. This being the first post that I've put on here . . . and me being a fairly novice player . . . I kind of feel like I'm walking into a guitar shop and asking to play a thousand dollar Martin. Awkward. Anyway, my question is this: I've learned to strum through Clapton's "Promises". I love the song and I play it well enough to be recognizable. However, I'd like to incorporate the slide part into the song. I'm not good enough at slide yet to be able to sound it out. Can anyone help me with this? I've looked up all of the tabs online that I can find but none have the slide tabbed. I think the original is played on a steel guitar, but it could be adapted to a regular acoustic, yes? Thanks. Also, if anyone knows of some reliable John Prine tabs I'd be much obliged. I've tried/learned a few of the songs at The Prine Shrine. They're the best I've found so far, but none of them are quite right (or, maybe it's me that's not quite right). I have a couple of Prine DVD's and he's not playing the songs the way they're tabbed out on that page. Has anyone tried the tab books sold at OhBoy? The Amazon reviews aren't good, but you never know.
