Members jimwratt Posted January 21, 2007 Members Posted January 21, 2007 most of the 8 finger tappers ive seen have played v type guitars. there are also a lot that play strats, teles, lps, etc. and my biggest question is about wrist angle. i cant for the life of me get comfortable with that retarted dude wrist position, nevermind learning the fingerings. I can use my middle and ring fingers pretty effectively but i can use a much less extreme wrist angle. any tips on wrist angle for all four fingers?

Try playing with the neck either parallel to the ground or at a 50-60 degree angle like a stick. I find its also better to have your instrument rather high but its really a personal thing. The big problem with tapping is that its not like blues riffs. There are standard and proven ways to execute those well. Tapping seems more of a self-taught idea that deals with a lot of personal discovery.
