Members Remolution Posted March 27, 2007 Members Posted March 27, 2007 I like these books. I have the Jazz one. Anyone know of any similar titles by different publishers that are as good if not better?
Members bdemon Posted March 28, 2007 Members Posted March 28, 2007 I started using these ten years ago and I haven't found any better. I like the Urban Blues and Smooth Jazz ones too. And as I think of it, the Funk one was pretty good too...captures a lot of James Brown vibe. The other ones are good, but sound a bit dated...the metal one sounds very late 80s, etc. I think the Musician's Institute put out a book of jam tracks, but I haven't heard it. Obviously rock based.
Members UnderTheGroove Posted March 30, 2007 Members Posted March 30, 2007 Musicians Institute has a whole series of books covering different styles. Many of them have some backing tracks included. You can find them on Amazon. Of course, if you just need some good backing tracks I happen to know a good source...
