Members blumonk Posted July 23, 2007 Members Posted July 23, 2007 Bruno has had that clip up on his website for years. I think everyone has pretty much seen it. Are the guy who always shows up at the party late?
Members Virgman Posted July 24, 2007 Author Members Posted July 24, 2007 There no such thing as an old riff to someone who hasn't heard it before.
Members gennation Posted July 24, 2007 Members Posted July 24, 2007 I've never seen that before. I've looked at the lessons on his site before but never the videos I don't think. Pretty cool.
Members Remolution Posted July 24, 2007 Members Posted July 24, 2007 I'm wondering how his virtual "school" is. Anyone subscribe?

Members Dubb Posted July 24, 2007 Members Posted July 24, 2007 Is it just me, or does this guy come off as a complete dick to you all? He's already been banned once for trolling, but I guess he manages to keep his troll-to-helpful post ratio just balanced enough that he hasn't warranted any further punitive action . Best to just tolerate him... like an obnoxious relative .
Members MikeWiles Posted July 24, 2007 Members Posted July 24, 2007 Thanks for posting this Virgman. I may be late to the party, but I recently got the Jimmy Bruno "No Nonsense Jazz Guitar" video from Hot Licks. The video has been very helpful to me. That's really all I know about Jimmy Bruno. So, seeing this little clip was really cool. I had not heard of his site before either. So, I'm going to check that out. Thanks again,

I refer to it regularly and cop new inspiration. Personally I can only take so much of Jimmy's playing though. I get the same thing with Joe Pass. Both are "leagues above" players for sure, and HUGE influences. But there are only few tunes with JUST guitar solo's all the way through that are really pleasing to me, especially song after song. Now those two guys backing up a singer, or as part of a combo or something, are more enjoyable to me. It must be the change up/interaction of players solo'ing, or the nice placement of solo's within full band songs. But, that's my listening preference.
