Members D-Monk Posted February 11, 2008 Members Posted February 11, 2008 Can anyone give me a list of good songs to transcribe which uses chords besides the usual major and minor e.g. minor 7th, major 7th, dom 7th, suspended etc I dont want the guitar to be low in the mix as well please i hate it when theres too much distortion and effects and its low in the mix
Members Jawbreakerr Posted February 11, 2008 Members Posted February 11, 2008 get yourself a "Real Book" its full of jazz standards and its the book that every jazzer gets when hes starting out.. probably any chord you would use is in this book will be applied in one of the songs, and you can hear it amongst the progression.

I concur. Plus a few reads through that book will help you transcribe what you're hearing in other songs since there are so many common formula's between many songs.
Members mosiddiqi Posted February 13, 2008 Members Posted February 13, 2008 I reckon you can get a lot out of transcribing some Beatles songs...tunes like "If I fell" have really nice chord changes that are quite sophisticated..
