Members gennation Posted February 12, 2008 Members Posted February 12, 2008 Nice job cef. Looks similar to the idea I show in my last weekly lesson here: http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=1887147 This looks to be the stacked triads in C Major, as opposed to linear triads in C Major. I have a couple of other ideas like this that show how to use the chromatic notes along with them too, and arps directly off the chord tones, etc..for creating even a steadier forward motion sound. That will be in a later lesson. Nice lessons btw. They are great for HEARING the sounds over and over and getting them in your head. Welcome to the LL.
Members jonfinn Posted February 12, 2008 Members Posted February 12, 2008 hey man! Those licks are really cool! Nice feel, nice ideas... I like the fact that nothing sounds very "clinical." Nice job! I just wanna point something out tho.... If you're playing the note F# in the licks (7th fret, 2nd string), you should probably re-title it "C Lydian" because C Ionian has F natural. Either that, or don't make any reference to modes. Even if you called it "cool stuff over Cmaj7" that would work fine! Having said that, I really like the way you're approaching it! Keep up the great work! Jon
Members Virgman Posted February 13, 2008 Members Posted February 13, 2008 I've been playing a variation of the first lick on the vid over Green Dolphin St. Sounds really good. Thanks.
