Would it be best to bar the e and b at the 10th fret and let the pinky do all the work, or should I shift my index finger with the string being played?
Members Jasco Posted February 19, 2008 Members Posted February 19, 2008 Answer #1: It would depend on the sound you want. Do you want to hear notes sustaining from one string to the next? If so, barre. If not, don't barre. Answer #2: If I had play that lick in a high gain rock environment, I wouldn't barre, I'd just shift my first finger as needed.
Members 1001gear Posted February 19, 2008 Members Posted February 19, 2008 Also its more efficient if you use the pinky only on the F (E/13) and the third finger on the C (B/13).
Members sanchezero Posted February 19, 2008 Members Posted February 19, 2008 you could always work on a rolling barre ala sweep picking stuff. i find it easier, but i'm clumsy.
