Members kiwijoker Posted May 2, 2008 Members Posted May 2, 2008 Are there basic rules about which notes to accent - syncopation talks about accenting notes normally unaccented - but I don't see much infomration about what notes should normally be accented - is it just a feel thing?
Members bigboy_78 Posted May 2, 2008 Members Posted May 2, 2008 You don't accent notes, really, you accent beats in the bar. 1 & 3 are usually accented, think marching. LEFT, LEFT, LEFT,RIGHT, LEFT. A simple syncopated rhythm is on 2 & 4 instead, but something like 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & would give a pretty syncopated groove. Anything that is off the standard pulse.
