I'm lazy, so my fav is this:

5

6

5

x

x

I find this semi-quartal grip very handy during improv and comping over modal vamps, because it sounds very ambiguous and can be many things depending on the bass note.

e.g.

over D = Dm11

over Eb = Eb69

over G = Gsus9

over C = Csus4

over F = F triad w/2

i discovered this chord a couple of days ago and i love it:

x
9
9
7--->instead of fretting the note, hit the harmonic
7
9

the half-step between the harmonic A on the 4th string and the fretted A flat on the 2nd string makes for some really cool dissonance.

A movable shape, shown here as BaddE:

--0--
--0--
--8--
--9--
--9--
--7--

Sounds good as a full chord or arpeggiated. I like drones, and I like getting the lower sounding notes on the lighter strings.

I've always love the "maj" type chords...

Cmaj9 (any maj9 for that matter)...(in the second voicing it's like an G Major triad with a C in the bass...G/C)

E----------------

B--3------8-------

G--4------7-------

D--2------9--------

A--3-------------

E---------8--------

Cmaj7/#11 (or Cmaj#11 if you will)...

E---2-----

B---5----7--

G---4----9---

D--------9----

A---3----------

E--------8------

Cmaj13

E--10--

B--10--

G--9--

D--9--

A----

E--8--

Good chord to which to tune the guitar as well.

If you want to get fancy you can play the F11
