Also, the most important thing for speed is efficiency. You need to make sure that you have proper technique as far as how you are gripping the neck. In addition, you need to make sure that your pick stays close to the string so that there is no wasted movement (distance=time). With this in mind, practice it slowly with a metronome, making sure that your hands are perfectly synchronized and that your technique is flawless. Do this for fifteen minutes a day, moving the metronome up a little each day. Soon you will be able to play it.
