Members W.bat Posted October 25, 2008 Members Posted October 25, 2008 Hi crew I'm trying to track down some tabs for a couple of songs and was wondering what is the best source for doing this. I want Hey Joe and purple haze and little wings. thanks.
Members Jasco Posted October 25, 2008 Members Posted October 25, 2008 With all due respect, I'd say the best source of tabs is your ears.

Guys like Dave Whitehill are genuine guitar gods in their own right, it would be crazy to ignore their resources.

I'd also say, using ones own ears in combination with TBAS will be a very good learning tool. Try to transcribe as much as you can, and when you get stuck check a TAB, but go on transcribing all you can get using your ears. At the end compare to the TABS and have a close look at the parts that are different.

Members DarkHorseJ27 Posted October 28, 2008 Members Posted October 28, 2008 For tabs, www.ultimate-guitar.com has a lot. But the thing you got to worry about with any tab site is the accuracy of the tabs.
Members mhoward Posted October 29, 2008 Members Posted October 29, 2008 What about SheetMusicDirect.com? I got SRV's Texas Flood for $0.99, and it's a beautifully typeset guitar tab with G-clef staff. You do have to load Sibelius Scorch plugin to see a sample page. The transcription seems very true to the album recording. You can pay with PayPal. Hey Joe is here, also $0.99: http://www.sheetmusicdirect.us/search/productDetail.do?itemId=1000039827 BTW, I have no relationship with this company, and I've only used them once, but it worked out fine for me. Also, if you go to the .com address, you can pick your country and they'll give you prices in the local currency.
