Members pfizer Posted December 27, 2008 Members Posted December 27, 2008 Hey guys, just wanted to ask if Paul Gilbert has any new instructional stuff out right now. I know he did a lot of lessons for guitar mags but I think it's been quite a while since his Intense Rock/Terrifying Guitar Trip/Guitar From Mars days. I do believe he has instructional vids for both his instrumental albums, Get Out of My Yard and Silence Followed By A Deafening Roar. Anyone have these? How do they compare with his previous instructional vids, which are quite possibly some of the best ever lesson videos?
Members pirata Posted December 30, 2008 Members Posted December 30, 2008 I really dont know but the older vids were great Paul is a great teacher. I hope he does release new tapes.

The "Get Out of my Yard" video is quite interesting. Paul goes through some of the songs in the video and explains what he is doing in the most important part of the songs. He also explains what he wanted to achieve and the tricks he used to get there. It is a very interesting video if you can follow it (I can't). It doesn't come with any tabs or anything similar.
Members ampetite Posted January 3, 2009 Members Posted January 3, 2009 Yeah I have been wanting to check out his new one for Silence, it is suppose to include what Paul called a Shred Annex. He said it was going to include the most terrifying of all his licks. I would love to see that
Members pfizer Posted January 3, 2009 Author Members Posted January 3, 2009 Just checked out listings for 'Silence' in Amazon and it does have downloadable tabs with it I'm still hoping Guitar World or Total Guitar just releases a compilation of his video lessons (he's currently doing columns for both magazines) like they did with Batio's stuff.
