Members nightwatchman92 Posted February 2, 2009 Members Posted February 2, 2009 I"m trying to find either on CD or Computer some blues backing tracks I can use to solo over. I'm not really looing for an instructional video or anything (but if you know of a good one I'm all ears)...just mostly the tracks. Free is good but if you know any good CD's that would be great too. Thanks in advance!

Members nightwatchman92 Posted February 2, 2009 Author Members Posted February 2, 2009 Thanks, man! I appreciate it. I finally got around to picking-up a T-Bone Walker album and I can't quit playing it. That's the style I'm trying to drum into my head right now. With all due respect to the "Kings", I think T-Bone blows them out of the water.
Members HALSAM00 Posted February 2, 2009 Members Posted February 2, 2009 I must check it out! The only blues albums I have are SRV (if ya call that the blues) I really dig it thou. Im gonna type t-bone walker in to pandora and check it out.
Members bdemon Posted February 3, 2009 Members Posted February 3, 2009 Alfred Publishing has a series of backing tracks called Stand Alone Series that are pretty good, though some sound a bit dated. My favorite one is by Wayne Riker, called Urban Blues.
Mark Wein Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 I've got some here: http://markweinguitarlessons.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=18

Members RedYagiDY Posted February 3, 2009 Members Posted February 3, 2009 From what I've found, every blues album ever made is a great blues backing track. Lately I've been letting Albert King's "Born Under a Bad Sign" be my backing tracks.

Many hours jamming and picking up new riffs from the legends.

Lately I've been letting Albert King's "Born Under a Bad Sign" be my backing tracks. No doubt this is true....just picked up a T-Bone Walker album that is truly like a primer on blues styles. The only problem with "just play with the album" is that I find myself "playing against" the vocalist/soloist...gets things kinda muddled. But you're right, in a pinch it works ok.

Hey thanks for the props on "Stand Alone Urban Blues"...unfortunately it went out of print a couple of years ago, even though I was getting a lot of great feedback on it...it featured a number of good players on it,and was the first in that series to feature a live horn player. It continues to be a successful book for my private students as a tool for strengthening their improv against the varied grooves contained on the Cd.
