What color?

One of my kids is finally moving out, YEA! I'm converting his room into a lesson studio. I'll be giving guitar lessons out of that room. I'm in the middle of scraping crud off the floors and walls as we speak. My question....

What color should I paint the room? I've heard stories and theories about colors having an impact on learning, creativity and such.

Lesson Loft? I guess this is a legitimate question?

i didn't know he used squirt guns, but yeah. or whatever style you want to paint it in. paint big cartoon dinosaurs on the wall if you want.

He used syringes, but I wasn't sure I could spell it. Is that right? Ha,ha!

I was more on the... some say red makes you pay attention to detail, while pale blue makes you more artistic, pale green is relaxing, bright white makes you want to, hurry-up and leave... that kinda stuff.

two-tone with a white border separating the colors.

or you could stripe the inside of the room like Van Halen's guitar. That wouldn't be too inspiring to me but it would certainly make an awesome photograph.

:idk:

OK, Wise Guys! I'm thinking pale Green, like a Fender color, and some kind of Van Halen type stipe thing going on. Although I'm considering, the Green then jackson pollocking it. Maybe just on the wainscoting area. IDK

if it were me I'd just go with white or off-white...then put up music related posters or art...but if its a color, you could consider what some say about psychological effects. I don't really know off hand, but I have heard that red is not good. I've seen some studios that are all dark shades w/ candles for mood lighting. Probably lighting is more important to me...like no flourescents...unless you want some "industrial buisness park" vibe going on.

The color of the paint will not matter because it will be under some acoustic foam treatment. Seriously, four freshly painted blank walls and ceiling will not sound good. No need some soft stuff in there. Half or more of the paint needs to have something blocking it like bookcases painting, foam curtains,..... Paint is the background for what really shows and is noticed.

DUH! I know I posted on here for a reason! I didn't even think of acoustic treatment! Oh man... a whole new can of worms.
Most studios I've taught in, I'm in a closet size room, painted white, fluorescent on the ceiling, small practice amp, two chairs and a music stand. All I could do was think about when it was time to leave. Are we through yet? I'd like to have better than that, in my home.
Thanks for the sug.
