Members damage Posted March 18, 2009 Members Posted March 18, 2009 Hey guys, I'm looking for a intermediate song to learn to progress my skills. The song must be in standard tuning. I like metal and rock, and the hardest songs I can play are Eruption and Master of Puppets. I can't sweep. :thu: thanks
Members Terje Posted March 18, 2009 Members Posted March 18, 2009 I'm really the wrong guy to recommend you anything becauyse I don't listen to the stuff you're into at all but... why not sit down with a little John Lee Hooker? I'd say Boogie Chillun for starters and get into his groove because if there's one thing lacking in todays heavy rock music it is a good feel and that's what "Mr Lucky" will teach you!
Members mcmurray Posted March 18, 2009 Members Posted March 18, 2009 There's some funky strumming in that one, and a complete guitar pro tab exists. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wApjy0IaCTw That one has a good intermediate solo.
Members mosiddiqi Posted March 18, 2009 Members Posted March 18, 2009 How about some classic Zeppelin?..."Celebration Day" is a really cool riff that is quite tricky to nail rythmically, and the solo is simple but perfect.
Members gennation Posted March 18, 2009 Members Posted March 18, 2009 Celebration Day is a great tune. Look up Hocus Pocus by the band Focus. It's a riot to play and learning Jan Akkerman's solo's will keep you busy and show you some new angles.
