Members halfwhole Posted April 27, 2009 Members Posted April 27, 2009 learning one of his solos again.... transients. here's part of it before he plays tons of crazy ass {censored}. on the cd it's track 8 from like 1:53 - 2:17 i guess it's in Eminor. gorgeous opening lines, my rhythm is again {censored}ed up, don't even know if this tune is actually in 4/4 (any input on this?), so you'll have to listen to it. also the 8va part isn't in the right octave in the tab, so you'll have to move it up an octave. hopefully i will get enough time to finish it this week. also in measure 6 you need to play the E note twice, i forgot to change that.
Members halfwhole Posted April 28, 2009 Author Members Posted April 28, 2009 let's get one thing straight: jimmy herring is a badass mother{censored}er. this goes up to 2:36. part of this is really similar to the head from scapegoat blues. it's really {censored}ed up stuff and i'll have to check it again, but it's pretty close to this:
Members jeremy_green Posted April 28, 2009 Members Posted April 28, 2009 You are a brave man to tackle Jimmy's stuff!! I applaud and thank you I will definitely be going over these when i get a chance. He is a monster!!
Members halfwhole Posted April 28, 2009 Author Members Posted April 28, 2009 cool! actually don't look at that 16th note thing yet, it's got mad mistakes. i'll fix it for tomorrowish.
Members halfwhole Posted April 29, 2009 Author Members Posted April 29, 2009 here's the correction. it's {censored}ing hard to play
Members halfwhole Posted April 30, 2009 Author Members Posted April 30, 2009 here's the beginning of the solo on "only when it's light". i learned allf of it a few weeks back and am just writing it out now. maybe i'll get some time to finish it today or tomorrow and then finish transients after. lots of the slurs are bends, i'm just too lazy to figure that out in finale. i pretty much gave up on getting rhythms accurately and just do it phrase by phrase, so try it with the recording. nice lydian stuff and he gets the #5 in their too, although i noted it as C natural instead of Bsharp it's like 2:53 to 3:15 on the cd, track 2
Members halfwhole Posted May 1, 2009 Author Members Posted May 1, 2009 this goes 3:15 - 3:40 ish on only when it's light the 8va part needs to be moved up an octave in the tab
