Members jeremy_green Posted May 25, 2009 Members Posted May 25, 2009 Hey all, I just completed my first symphonic piece and am much too close to it to hear it as a listener. Its real short. I used a guitar synth for the fast parts of it and it came out pretty clean which was fairly surprising. Give er a listen and let me know what you think. Man some of the software out there is getting pretty powerful. Kind of scary really. The vast majority of you folks' opinions I have a good deal of respect for. Cheers! Moderators Jed Posted May 25, 2009 Moderators Posted May 25, 2009 t completed my first symphonic piece and am much too close to it to hear it as a listener. Its real short. I like it. I need to hear it on better speakers than my laptop - but for a first listen - overall I like it. The string stabs seemed a bit hot about half-way through but that may just have been the cheap speakers I heard it through. Nicely done!
Members 1001gear Posted May 26, 2009 Members Posted May 26, 2009 Uh , too short. Nice orchestral exercise otherwise. Made a cool intro to the crunch clip.
Members Jasco Posted May 26, 2009 Members Posted May 26, 2009 Awesome Jeremy! I'd agree with both previous posters. Too short. I want to hear more. And at about 0:44, if I were mixing it I'd bring the string hits down, and the melodic line of triplets up.
Members mosiddiqi Posted May 26, 2009 Members Posted May 26, 2009 That's a really good piece of work Jeremy! ...a bit short as others have said, though too short is always better than too long...for most things that is.......but I really liked the melody and arrangement. Very dramatic and cinematic sounding..cool.
Members jeremy_green Posted May 26, 2009 Author Members Posted May 26, 2009 Thanks guys! Yeah I know its pretty short it's gonna be a work in progress. Where it ends will lead up to a different part at some point. But spare time being what it is these days I wanted to wrap it up and allow it to stand for now. Until I can get back to it. I agree with the string hits coming down a bit and will likely make that adjustment when I get back into it. Having a place like this for feedback is awesome. Cheers!
