Hey guys I've gotten into reading music as of late. I'm pretty fluid and know what key signature a piece is in based on sharps and flats etc. I just wanted to ask do any of you know of a good book for guitar that is filled with sheet music. There seems to be a lot of books but I'd like to narrow it down. I'd prefer if there were no tabs in the book, but if there is and it's good I'll get it. thanks

"A modern method for guitar" volumes 1, 2 and 3 by William Leavitt. Highly recommended - if you can sight read all the chord etudes you're doing well. Plus it'll teach you a {censored} load about the instrument that you didn't already know.

No TAB either, which is great.

Once you've mastered that, this one is supposedly excellent;

Nearly every book for guitar is going to contain both sheet music and tabs. If you're looking for ones that don't contain tabs you'll probably want to look for piano song books or something like that. The only problem is they are going to be piano parts, not the guitar parts. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Actually, now that I think about, I hardly contributed anything, so why'd I reply at all? Meh.

leavitt also did a book of classical pieces arranged for picking. very good stuff.

also this one:

although it's goal is teaching reading, the later chapters are about reading musically and very helpful. also shows different ways of reading a piece so that you can get more of a workout out of one piece of music.

there's a berklee sight-reading book that is pretty intense too
