Members gennation Posted January 4, 2010 Members Posted January 4, 2010 (posted this in GJ too, but thought those who don't wander there would dig this too) Trust me, it has NOTHING to do with John Denver http://lessons.mikedodge.com/lessons/Transcriptions/CountryRoads.htm I always thought Country Roads was one of the coolest and quirkiest interpretations of the Blues. It's full of suspensions, tritone stacks, dissonance, and much more. I had a day away from learning new material for the band and thought I'd learn something I listen to a lot, that's the main reason for this video and transcription. The version transcribed is from the album Like Minds. Hope you have fun with it. 2CrXzhA3Vbg http://lessons.mikedodge.com/lessons/Transcriptions/Country%20Roads.pdf

Yeah, I only got a few of the solo licks transcribed. I mainly look at getting the heads and then emulating their playing rather than worrying about every note. My next transcription I need to to post is a solo though...Tal Farlow's first solo in Night and Day. It's killer. Anyways this Gary Burton stuff is fun.
