Members BMTHataAILD Posted January 21, 2010 Members Posted January 21, 2010 Alright so, lately I've been obsessing over As I Lay Dying. Their clean vocals mixes amazingly with the screaming and the song, and blows me away every time. Not to mention the complex, fast guitar riffs. That's where my problem lies. So anyway, my main problem with this song is the tapping. Long story short, I can't get a definite sound out of it, and the other 5 strings being unused vibrate a little, causing a little hum that makes me sound terrible. If anyone has any tips on how to tap, for that song specifically, or just taping in general please share. Also, if you know how to get those extra strings to not vibrate, please share. Thanks in advance!

Members BMTHataAILD Posted January 21, 2010 Author Members Posted January 21, 2010 Thanks a bunch! It worked, now to only get the definite sound I need.
Members TrickyBoy Posted January 22, 2010 Members Posted January 22, 2010 I don't know what you mean by "get the definite sound out of it". I can't open the tab thing, and I have no idea what song this is. Are you saying that you're having a hard time getting the tapped notes to sound properly?

There is the song for you.
Members TrickyBoy Posted January 22, 2010 Members Posted January 22, 2010 I don't know who this justin dude is, but here's the basic pattern that they use in the song (different sting and notes of course): EDIT - I lied - He pulls back off, so it's tap - 1st finger - 3rd finger - first finger - tap.... I wish I had recording capabilities and I'd just show you right quick.
