Members Killress Posted March 2, 2010 Members Posted March 2, 2010 What scale is Navarro using at about 3:40ish? I like how it sounds
Poparad Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 The progression at that point is just back and forth between Bm7 and E7. You could either think of Bm as being the main chord, or E7. The notes he's using are B C# D E F# G# A, which could be either B dorian or E mixolydian, whichever you'd like to call it. He's also throwing some chromatic notes in at one point, playing from G to G# during the E7 chord, which is a common blues thing to do.

Poparad Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 It's a common progression, and there's only one sound that fits that (Dorian), and one that I know very well. If he played anything else, it would sound "out," and then I'd probably have to sit down and figure out what it was. I did have to pick up my guitar to know it started on B.
