the a major string of 14's ..

 

right now i have my middle finger for the b string, then quickly hop my index for the G and D... wondering if theres a better fluid way

Here is the line:



My first finger plays all the 14's in the first passage, then all the 12's in the second. The other fingers are obvious from there.

Listen to the background chords .. what are they? A then G
Look at this lick. Do you see the A chord then the G?

Chord tones are the secret to lead playing.

but that doesnt that let all 14's ring out it doesnt seem like they're ringing out in the vid

 

also--- he slides up from the 7 into a 14 on the G before he starts the solo

Do a finger roll. (I think that's the term).

 

I find them difficult to make on 3 strings on a row but pretty easy on 2. Practice should do it though.
