So guys, I think I've picked my Berklee audition song.

Totally arranging this for guitar. You know it's awesome.

Oh, specifically: I'm "arranging" it. Not playing just playing the melody, which would be less than impressive. I'm thinking about moving the melody an octave up and tapping the bass line, but I'm not sure if that's necessary.

That could be very cool if you work it out right! Lots of harmonies to grab in there.

Working on it right now. I have to say, it seems arranging woodwind pieces is a lot harder than arranging orchestral instruments.

Namely, the positioning of the notes makes it very obvious that woodwind players can reach any note much more easily.

So far I'm just working on playing the roots of chords, once I've got that down I'll move on to harmonies and more detailed arrangement.

Also, I realized this song is a lot faster than I thought it was originally.

WTF? The sheet music I have is just wrong. It skips a note.

Rather than going "do do do do dodo do do" it goes "do do dodo do do dodo"

Either I'm deaf, or this is just wrong.

EDIT: AHA! I listened to the play along thing. There's a few bars of introduction that aren't in the original recording. Why on earth these were included escapes me.
