Members jeremy_green Posted October 21, 2010 Members Posted October 21, 2010 http://www.box.net/shared/lccjkmyhak Stomias that killed man! Loved it. You have a nice groove and a skill for overlaying parts. Great touch.
Members gennation Posted October 21, 2010 Members Posted October 21, 2010 I was learning some scratchy slide stuff by Mick Taylor last winter but was drinking like Keith Richards. I stumbled on a melody hook and and just recorded and improv with it to get the idea hook captured. I used to play slide a lot but only a couple of times a year for myself these days except for what might be needed on a gig of something.I like slide work to be nice and off the cuff with nothing clean at all. I like loose like the old stuff and acoustic where they would fall on their face and pick themselves right back up and play forward again. I like it so scratchy that I had a guy me a copper slide back in 1986 and it's still the slide I use, nice and nasty sounding! This is just purely scratchy slide improv, again to cop the melody that I stumbled on...I probably shouldn't really be posting this...but what the hey, huh? You might call this, How Not To Use A Slide oC7323U5Y04

Members gennation Posted October 21, 2010 Members Posted October 21, 2010 Mike, That was some neat 'ol blues going on there. Thx Virg. "Drunk Man Slidin'", that's what I'll call it One cool thing to do with a slide is, play slide with an Ebow!!! You can get some mega cool stuff with that combo. You can get a Fripp meets Hackett thing going.
