Members mosiddiqi Posted January 29, 2011 Members Posted January 29, 2011 http://www.chordbot.com/audio.php I just got the "lite" free version and it is brilliant for quickly setting up a chord progression and style to jam over...definitely getting the paid version
Members GreenAsJade Posted January 30, 2011 Members Posted January 30, 2011 Had a quick look - seems nice. One thing I don't get: why do you want this for your *phone* ?

One thing I don't get: why do you want this for your *phone* ? ..a lot of times I'll be lazing around on the couch playing unplugged..nowhere near an amp or computer, so setting up a quick progression to jam over where I don't even have to plug in is perfect for me
Members jeremy_green Posted January 30, 2011 Members Posted January 30, 2011 That's great Mo. Thanks for the heads up. That would be great with the phone when practicing unplugged.
Members ednakayama Posted January 30, 2011 Members Posted January 30, 2011 Very, very cool. Just got the full version. Great heads up. I've been wanting something like this for a while (not a BIAB fan).
Members bigboy78 Posted January 31, 2011 Members Posted January 31, 2011 Had a quick look - seems nice. One thing I don't get: why do you want this for your *phone* ? Just purchased this app as well. Nice find mo. I don't think of my phone as a "phone" anymore. Its a miniture laptop that makes phonecalls. My desktop computer is in the general living area of my house, so doesn't give my the privacy I like when I am noodling. This app is basically a stripped down BIAB that I can take to by bedroom with me. RAD!
Members GreenAsJade Posted January 31, 2011 Members Posted January 31, 2011 Yeah, dang it. This app _isnt_ available for my laptop in the shed, so I have to acutally be without it while you smartphone owners jam out to your phones!!

Exactly!..I now have a metronome, excellent chromatic tuner, this app for jamming and..wait for it.....a 4 track recorder..all in my "phone". I only got my smartphone a week or so ago and I'm astonished at how quickly everything I do has kind of become integrated with the phone..technology, I love it!

Can you give us a review of it, and how practical it works? This sounds really cool to me. I have an iPhone, but Im pretty ignorant about whats out there for it. I was at a jame recently and this guy came up and started playing drums on his and I about fell over. He was able to make a rough drum loop. I should have asked him what that program was. I'll check out that chordbot app. Thanks for the heads up! UPDATE: Just bought it. Love it! rnbacademy
Members ednakayama Posted February 21, 2011 Members Posted February 21, 2011 I just did a blog post on this along with a demo. I really like the program, and it seems to handle complex progressions really well. The only downside is that there aren't any simple feels that can handle a tune that changes meter (like a song in 3/4 that has one bar of 2/4). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyW5bz4hYfA http://www.ednakayama.com/2011/02/21/chordbot-a-neat-little-iphone-practice-tool/
Members jeremy_green Posted February 22, 2011 Members Posted February 22, 2011 Really great job Ed. Those changes are a bear and you made it look quite easy. Some damn nice phrases in there brother. That little tool is great, I use it quite frequently when traveling.
Members ednakayama Posted February 22, 2011 Members Posted February 22, 2011 Thanks JG and mosiddiqi. Also thanks for turning me on to this app. I love it!
