Just a short one...This week's Podcast is kind of a short one on how to get more tone and textural differences out of your instrument with only your picking hand...let me know what you think!

Nice lesson. I love Jazz III picks. The Ultex ones are great.

Thanks! The Ultex ones are the first Jazz III's I've really liked the sound of....When I was playing the Fender Medium in the video it was funny how sloppy and uncontrolled it all felt...

These links cover it... let me know you thoughts. Thanks!

Thats pretty crazy. I'm going to have to mess with it but I think it might not be the right thing for me...still worth investigating though.

This part scares me:

(1) It can take some relearning. During the transition period your original technique will fall apart. There is no gentle transition. The middle ground, where the thumb joint begins to arch or the first joint of the first finger begins to straighten out, is terrible, so it must be avoided through continual vigilance

I've just gone through this process reworking my picking hand the last year. I still haven't fully exited the "middle ground" of that transition...

It's seems kinda counter-intuitive. Could be cool though... Anyhoo, nice lesson. Cheers!

yeah. anything is worth giving a spin, though...

and thanks!

Thanks guys!

I've been trying to explore the basics that I don't see covered so much online. Hopefully this is useful for some folks....
