Members Jammer48 Posted September 9, 2011 Members Posted September 9, 2011 Just bought this DVD based on what I've seen on his site and his Gibson endorsement.http://www.thepassiontheory.com/ I'll most likely blow thru the beginner content, but I was just curious if any members here are familiar with this course and what your thoughts about it were/are. I queried the search engine but came up empty.
Members stomias Posted September 9, 2011 Members Posted September 9, 2011 Meh....with the plethora of instructional stuff on youtube alone there is no need to pay for anything like this. Hell there are guys right here, JohnnyPac for example, that I think are better players than this guy and offer up all sorts of great lessons. You are still better off finding a good teacher to start for one on one learning and immediate feedback to any questions that might come up.
Members Ricmon164 Posted December 1, 2012 Members Posted December 1, 2012 Hello Jammer, I am happy to respond to any questions you have as it relates to my Passion Theory Guitar Instruction Method. I understand you being able to blow through the Beginner portion but it is sometimes very helpful to hear how different musicians ideas about the basics. It gives you more perspective to formulate your own opinions and style. I believe that if you follow my instruction method workout routine and if you are serious add your own items to the Daily Lesson Plan you will continue to improve. Organizing your time especially if you don't have 3 or 4 hours a day to practice is very important. Efficiency is the key. Also, be careful of other guitar players and people who throw out negative comments before they know anything about the topic. Guitarists are notoriously competitive and that is good. But the ugly negative jealous comments are unnecessary. You know the old joke, "How many guitar players does it take to install a light bulb? 1000, 1 to install the light bulb and 999 to say they could do it better." Of course, there amazing musicians everywhere and great methods but I feel confident in what I have put together. I have quite a bit of experience in the music business as a performer, song writer, producer, and have been developing my instruction method for over 20 years and thousands of lessons. I try to put all my experience and passion into everything I do. In the end, that's what playing great guitar is about. Name any guitarist you like famous or not and you will get some very positive responses but then there are always those who don't enjoy that artist or worse say some very nasty things about them especially in this day of Anonymous Commenting on the net. Focus on yourself and enjoy playing the guitar everyday. Sorry it took so long for me to respond to this but I just signed up with Harmony Central. Have a great holiday season.
