Common tone chord progressions

Working lately on some common tone chord progressions. It would be really nice to be able to post chord charts, but I'll do my best under the circumstances. The common tone is on the B string. To start slowly:

Bm11

E - x

B - 5

G - 7

D - 7

A - x

E - 7

E7flat5

E - x

B - 5

G - 7

D - 6

A - x

E - 6

Amaj7

E - x

B - 5

G - 6

D - 6

A - x

E - 5

This progression can be extended quite a ways and sound very good. So here's the full progression. It starts the same as above, and continues. The bass note mostly moves down half a step at a time.

Bm11

E - x

B - 5

G - 7

D - 7

A - x

E - 7

E7flat5

E - x

B - 5

G - 7

D - 6

A - x

E - 6

Amaj7

E - x

B - 5

G - 6

D - 6

A - x

E - 5

G#m7#5

E - x

B - 5

G - 4

D - 4

A = x

E - 4

G13

E - x

B - 5

G - 4

D - 3

A - x

E - 3

F#7

E - x

B - 5

G - 3

D - 2

A - 4

E - 2

B11 (aka A/B)

E - x

B - 5

G - 6

D - 7

A - x

E - 7

E6

E - x

B - 5

G - 6

D - 6

A - 7

E - x

Is anyone interested in this kind of thing? I can work up lots of them.

it is a good technique but the people here should really come up with their own to benefit from it.

a lot of the technique comes from knowing all of your inversions for specific voicings

These are cool! Actually I like the format you used because it's pretty clear. The program Finale is pretty good w/ chord charts etc. If you using a mac, you can create the file using finale, then use the "print to .pdf" feature.

Another thing you could do is maybe post a video of you playing the chords? Just an idea. Thanks!

I've been jamming over | Cmaj9 | Abmaj7#11 | Bbmaj13 | Ebmaj7#11 Dbmaj7#11 | the G is the common tone I dig. I even tried it with a low G in the bass throughout. Super fun modal interchange changes.

Here's another, also putting G as the common tone:

Em7

E - x

B - 8

G - 7

D - 9

A - 7

E - x

Eflat7

E - x

B - 8

G - 6

D - 8

A - 6

E - x

D11

E - x

B - 8

G - 5

D - 7

A - 5

E - x

Dflat9#11

E - 3

B - 4

G - 4

D - 3

A - 4

E - x

Cmaj7

E - 3

B - 5

G - 4

D - 5

A - 3

E - x

These are kind of fun, and often useful.
